DUNNE WINS 2014 ROBINSON AWARD

DALLAS, TX -- Brockport State's Greg Dunne is the recipient of the 2014 Glenn Robinson award, presented annually to the top DIvision III coach in college basketball.

Dunne led the Golden Eagles to a 24-4 record in 2013-14 winning the Wendy's College Classic, Medaille College Holiday Classic and the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) regular season and tournament titles. He led the Golden Eagles to a nine-win improvement from the previous season and coached the all-time career scoring leader at Brockport as senior John Ivy set the new standard for scoring with 1,683 points. In each of Dunne's seven seasons, at least one Golden Eagle player has been selected to the All-SUNYAC team as a First-Team honoree.

The award is named after the longtime Franklin & Marshall coach, Robinson has over 800 wins and is currently twelfth on the all-time wins list. He has took Franklin & Marshall to NCAA Division III tournament 22 times and guided the Diplomats to the Division III Final Four in 1979, 1991, 1996, 2000 and 2009.

The Glenn Robinson Award, which is presented annually to the top Division III basketball coach, is named in honor of the Franklin & Marshall head coach. 
 
The winningest coach in Division III history, Robinson won his 900th game on Jan. 9, 2016. He’s the second Division III coach to spend 1,000 games on the sidelines. He’s directed the Diplomats to 23 NCAA tournament appearances, 42 tournament victories, 16 trips to the Sweet 16 and Final Four visits in 1979, 1991, 1996, 2000 and 2009. 
 
Even more remarkable, Franklin & Marshall was 22-43 in his first three seasons and in the last 45 years all but three players have earned their degree.
 
The recipient of of the 2021 award will be announced on March 31.

The Glenn Robinson award committee is a 20 member panel, consisting of 15 current or retired head coaches and five collegeinsider.com staff members.  Former Franklin & Marshall head coach Glenn Robinson is the chairman of the award committee.

The Glenn Robinson award is presented annually to the top division III head coach, as voted on by the award committee.
