THE GLENN ROBINSON AWARD

2019 Glenn Robinson Award

THE 2019 AWARD

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Matt Lewis of UW-Oshkosh is the 2018-19 recipient of the Glenn Robinson Award, given annually to the nation’s top Division III college basketball coach.

Lewis was one of the best stories in college basketball this season. After six years as the program’s top assistant, he was named interim coach for the 2018-19 season in May, 2018. After leading the Titans to the Division III national championship and a 29-3 record, it’s safe to remove the interim tag.

The Titans scored at least 80 points in all six NCAA Tournament victories, capping the run with a 96-82 defeat of Swarthmore (PA) College.

Robinson has 967 victories in 48 seasons at Franklin & Marshall and is the winningest coach in Division III history. He claimed his 900th victory on Jan. 9, 2016. He’s the second Division III coach to spend 1,000 games on the sidelines. He’s directed the Diplomats to 23 NCAA tournament appearances, 42 tournament victories, 16 trips to the Sweet 16 and Final Four visits in 1979, 1991, 1996, 2000 and 2009.

The winningest coach in Division III history, Robinson won his 900th game on Jan.
